How the Weighted Lottery Works

Every student who applies is entered into the lottery at least once. Some students receive additional entries to improve their chances of being selected. This system helps NNWM provide equitable access to historically underserved students.

Key Points:

  • More entries mean a higher chance, not a guarantee, of being selected.

  • All entries and weighting rules are pre-approved by the Nevada State Public Charter School Authority (SPCSA).

  • Families provide documentation (or attestation) to verify eligibility for weighted categories.

The child who has felt a strong love for his surroundings and for all living creatures, who has discovered joy and enthusiasm in work, gives us reason to hope that humanity can develop in a new direction.
