Sue-Ting Chene

she/her

Board President

​Sue-Ting grew up in California, lived briefly in Illinois, and has made Reno her home since 2011 with her husband and two school-age children. Sue-Ting Chene is an educator dedicated to providing opportunities and support for all students! She loves witnessing the discovery of students' true selves. She believes in building community and being an active villager.

In her free time, she lives to read, knit, ride bikes, and ski. She's learning to love paddleboarding, kayaking and camping.

Megan Jung

she/her

Board Treasurer

Megan is an operations and education professional with experience spanning financial services, payroll and HR management, and student support. Her background includes overseeing payroll, financial reporting, compliance, and operational systems, as well as improving policies, procedures, and training across teams.

​

She brings a strong analytical foundation from her work in banking, where she supported audits, regulatory compliance, account analysis, and staff training, and was recognized for exceptional customer service and performance. In education, Megan has worked as both an interventionist and independent ESL instructor, designing responsive instruction and supporting learners through individualized and small-group approaches. Known for her organization, adaptability, and collaborative style, she contributes to both operational excellence and community-centered work.

Stacy Alaribe

Board Member

Stacy Alaribe, MSW, LMSW is a licensed social worker based in Sparks, Nevada, where she was born and raised. She earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Nevada, Reno, and is passionate about promoting health equity and supporting diverse communities.

 

Drawing on her Nigerian-American heritage and deep local roots, Stacy brings expertise in case management, program development, and community engagement.

She has worked with children, families, and individuals with disabilities across clinical, educational, and community-based settings, advocating for socially vulnerable populations and improving access to services. Known for her collaborative approach and research-informed interventions, Stacy is dedicated to empowering individuals and strengthening inclusive, equitable communities.

Tave Kuckhoff

Board Member

Tavé Kuckhoff is a finance, operations, and fund development leader with a strong commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical financial stewardship. With experience across nonprofit finance, grant management, budgeting, board reporting, and donor strategy, Tavé specializes in strengthening financial systems and guiding organizations through periods of growth and change.

Her work has focused on building sustainable revenue models, improving fiscal transparency, and supporting effective governance through clear reporting and thoughtful risk management. Known for a calm, practical approach, Tavé brings clarity, stability, and long-term planning to organizational decision-making, always centered on protecting mission impact and the communities served.

Christy Fagundes

Board Member

Christy Fagundes is a Montessori educator from Northern Nevada whose work centers on community, belonging, and respectful partnership with families. She spent seven years teaching in public Montessori programs in Reno, where she collaborated with diverse learners and caregivers and saw how Montessori thrives when it reflects the cultures, languages, and strengths of the community it serves.

​

Christy holds diplomas from the Association of Montessori International in Primary and Elementary instruction as well as a master’s degree in Montessori Education. Throughout her ten years in the classroom, she has supported many multilingual learners and has worked closely with families to ensure children’s home languages and cultural identities are honored within the learning environment. She is committed to creating classroom communities where every child feels grounded, capable, and connected.

 

She currently leads the elementary program at Organic Beginnings Montessori School in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Serving on the Northern Nevada Wildflower Montessori Board allows her to stay rooted in her home community and support the growth of Montessori programs built on equity, relationships, and shared commitment to children and families.

Tamra Hopkins

she/her

Board Member

Tamra Hopkins is an educational leader and Montessori practitioner with deep experience in school founding, nonprofit governance, and whole-child education. As Executive Director of a Wildflower Montessori school, she brings a strong commitment to peace education, equity, and community-centered learning grounded in the natural world, the arts, and social-emotional development.

​

Tamra’s work spans instructional leadership, strategic planning, fundraising, and school operations, including budgeting, board development, and regulatory compliance. With a background in Montessori education, public charter systems, and reflective coaching, she is known for building engaged school communities, supporting educators, and designing learning environments that honor each child’s curiosity, independence, and potential.

Location

We are thoughtfully moving toward securing our school site, with several well-situated location options under consideration, all within 20 minutes of downtown Reno. We are focused on selecting the site that will ensure the best possible environment for our future students and families.
