English Language Learners
Northern Nevada Wildflower Montessori (NNWM) is committed to ensuring that all students, including English Language Learners (ELLs), are provided equitable access to a high-quality, standards-aligned public education. In alignment with NNWM’s Montessori philosophy, language development is viewed as an integral part of the whole child’s academic, social-emotional, and cultural growth.
Consistent with the Montessori approach, NNWM recognizes that students acquire language through meaningful interaction, purposeful work, and immersion in a language-rich environment. English language development at NNWM is embedded within authentic academic experiences and supported through individualized instruction, respectful of and valuing students’ home languages and cultural identities.
